Q&A with Pam

Do I need to wear my SPF moisturizer even when the sun is not out?

-Asked by Female Client 24-29

Pam's Answer:

Yes, absolutely!  This is a question I am often asked, especially living in Portland, where it can be cloudy much of the time.  Harmful UV rays can still reach your skin even on gray, overcast days.

Sun safety is not just for the beach or vacations. Are you sun-safe every day? Take the American Cancer Society's quiz and find out.

When selecting a sunscreen product, be sure to read the label before you buy. Sunscreens with broad spectrum protection (against UVA and UVB rays) and with sun protection factor (SPF) values of 15 or higher are recommended.  Re-apply your sunscreen every 2 hours, or, if you’re swimming, re-apply every time you get out of the water.  Be sun-smart and safe and enjoy your Summer!
